With this inspiration, the band Caipora was born three years ago. The name is that of the Tupi-Guarani legend of the caipora protector of the environment. It is a fusion of northeastern rhythms such as roda de roda, baião, ciranda, ox, maracatu and embolada. All this mixed with the sounds of candomblé and viola fashion. The result is the wall groove. The boys of the band created the rhythm from the wall singing, a way of singing of the old violators of the region. They performed in large farmhouses that usually had huge porches. The highlight was the rule of singing, should always be made with his back to the wall and facing the yard.
"This diversity of rhythms. For me, the wall groove is that "- said the bass player of the Caipora Fernando Mendes.
"With the wall groove we have the proposal of turning away from the fad and facing culture and regional music," explained Mandy.
