CIC Tokyoで月曜、木曜に番組を担うNick LuscombeはBBCラジオ「Late Junction」のパーソナリティー及びプロデューサー。音楽雑誌「WIRED」（UK版）等でもお馴染みの人物である。東京とロンドンを活動の拠点に得意分野のアンビエント、ポップ、エレクトロ、クラシック音楽を筆頭に長年にわたり多様なジャンルでの音楽コンサルティングとA&R他、UK Apple Musicでもコンサル歴を持つ。　また自身は世界の都市、空間を環境音楽とアートで繋ぐプロジェクトグループ、「Musicity」代表。フィールド・レコーディングを自らも行い、多くの都市で多くのアーツ・プロジェクトを展開する。　近年東京ではホテル「ザ・ロイヤルパークキャンバス銀座８」でのコンセプチュアル音楽イベント「GINZA DREAM SESSION」を共同主催また、TOKYO-FM「Dymistyfy」をメディアプロデューサー、西川顕氏と共演。また、昨年は本人監修のシティーポップコンピレーション、「TOKYO DREAMING」、「Sound Journey Of Switzland」をリリースと活動枠を広げている。

Nick Luscombe is a DJ, broadcaster, sound collector and producer based in London and Tokyo. He is well-known for his eclectic DJ selections and radio shows since his Flomotion programme was broadcast on XFM from 2000-2007, through to his work at Resonance FM, BBC 6 Music and latterly BBC Radio 3 where he presented the BBC’s flagship experimental music show Late Junction since 2010. More recently he presented the weekly Demystify show on TOKYO FM, as well as the experimental music programme NEW RATIO.

Nick has curated electronic and alternative compilation albums for various UK and Japanese labels, as well as playlists for Apple Music and iTunes, where he was Chief Music Editor for Europe during 2006-2010. Nick is developing a series of environmental sound collections for the Nonclassical record label and creates in-store playlists for shops and galleries.

Recent compilations include: Tokyo Dreaming (August 2020), Fieldwave 1 (January 2020), Sound Journeys: Switzerland (October 2020).

He is the founder of the site specific MSCTY.SPACE project and has so far commissioned over 200 tracks by an international array of artists.

London and Tokyo based BBC Radio broadcaster, music curator and DJ Nick Luscombe presents NEW RATIO – a weekly journey exploring innovative music and sound from a diverse selection of artists from around the world. Fusing future electronics, new directions in jazz, modern classical and composition, outsider music, experimental, field recordings, ambient and beyond, this truly eclectic programme will also feature occasional interviews and features with some of the most exciting musical creators from Japan and internationally.

The programme will also feature live session recordings from the archives of various international experimental music venues.
