Adam Russell grew up surrounded by a variety of music in Boston, USA, and became involved in Irish music through the Gaelic Roots Festivals in 1999 and 2000.
Shortly afterwards, through the local CCE branch, he began taking lessons from fiddle player Tommy Peoples from Donegal and local fiddle player George Keith.
As a teenager, he developed a hobby of collecting recordings and travelled the west coast of Ireland many times to collect tunes and absorb different regional styles.
He moved to Japan in 2016 and now teaches at Nishinomiya International Violin School.
