World-renowned modern fingerstyle titan, Andy McKee formed modern fingerstyle super-trio, Tripliciti with rising stars Calum Graham and Trevor Gordon Hall. All three are redefining the genre with innovative techniques, distinctive melodic creativity, and boundless imagination for the music that can be composed and played on the guitar.

Andy, Calum and Trevor collaborated on their modern fingerstyle masterclass, Full Spectrum Modern Acoustic. Using 8 songs from their debut album as the framework for the masterclass, they will perform the songs as a trio and then each artist will guide you through the techniques and creative approaches they used to play their part.

”Modern acoustic guitar is known for using a wide variety of techniques to create dynamic arrangements with rich textures, intricate rhythms, and expressive sonic landscapes.

In this masterclass, we’ll explore many of these techniques and approaches not only from a solo guitar perspective but also how we incorporate these techniques and colorful applications to create orchestrated trio arrangements for our group, Tripliciti.

We’ll perform and break down eight original pieces, analyze what makes them work, and talk about how we leverage the modern acoustic playbook to accompany one another, complement the sound as a whole, and build a full spectrum sonic experience for our audience.

Along the way, we’ll explore counterpoint, alternate tunings, fingerpicking, percussive hits, harmonics, dynamics, complementary voicings and a lot more.”
