Justo Takayama Ukon (1552-1615), originally named Takayama Hikogorō, was a respected Japanese daimyo and samurai who chose faith over feudal power. His life was marked by his conversion to Christianity at a young age, alongside his father. In 1614, due to strict anti-Christian policies, he was expelled from Japan, finding refuge and a warm reception in Manila where he lived his final days.
