A meaningful and blessed 2023 Christmas to all. I no longer included the songs' lyrics. You can easily sing along to them since most of the songs included in this playlist are familiar and much beloved and couched in simple terms. These songs are some of my favourite from disc 1 (Celtic Songs) from a 3-part CD Collection (A Celtic Christmas, made in 2010). Each disc contains 17-18 songs. The first disc is of vocal songs entitled ''Celtic Christmas Songs''; the second features instrumentals entitled ''Celtic Harp'', and the third has mixed songs in it entitled ''Celtic Joy''. A highlight of the playlist is the ''Wexford Carol''. One of the oldest existing Irish Christmas carols, the Wexford Carol is named after the southeastern Irish county where it originated. Its lyrics retell the Nativity and is thought to be a thousand years old, neatly dividing the period between the birth of Christ and the present day. The author is unknown, but the song survived due to its inclusion in a 1728 collection called ''A New Garland Containing Songs for the Christmas'' by Rev. William Devereux. The terms to the song though reverential are quite simple. It refers to shepherds and the birth of Christ in a humble ox's stall. Hence, it is wonderfully thought that the song may have been sung in a sheltered corner of a field since Rev. Devereux lacked a church and used to preach to his congregation of farm folk.

To my Beautiful Darling, some health issue always seem to suddenly strike me in every other month of this year. Though ever-anxious and fearful, I found myself steeling each and every month and remaining hopeful esp. because of the special and most wonderful gift of love I received and continue to receive from You. You already very well know how Big Sister is, right. In late 2013, after separating from her who was doing grocery-shopping, I came to find this gem of a Christmas CD when I wandered off into the people-less music section. Christmastime the following year or in 2014, as I was pregnant with Gabriel, that was how I thought of his name, in case the baby would be a boy, after listening again to the song ''The Angel Gabriel''. ''O Holy Night'', You guessed it right. It was because You've been listening to it tearfully a couple of nights ago. I forgot to say that your words sweetly serenaded my heart. Thank You for allowing me to be a part of your joy and Thank You to You for being the muse that inspires the poetry of our love story. Merry 2023 Christmas, my Love.
