In this video I show you a bass groove that can be used for Soul and Funk bass lines. This groove is inspired by the sort of ideas that Jaco Pastorius used in the bass lines of the following two tunes:
1. The Chicken
2. Come On, Come Over
This Soul Funk groove is based on a 16th note chromatic idea moving from chord 1 to chord 5 and back to chord 1 and is really useful to utilise in your bass lines.
This bass video tutorial is suitable for absolute beginner bass players through to intermediate bassists.
• Click for my 'Bass Beginner Series'. The series cover lots of topics for beginners, with tips on bass techniques, scales, arpeggios, pentatonic scales, and learning to read music.
