This video is me building a new set of radiator mounts and fabricating up a set of tabs to mount the radiator to the front crossmember.
Chipping away at the never ending list.
Just kinda figuring things out as I go, not going by anyone else's playbook...just my on, as always.
Rebuilding a long lost hotrod built back in 1962. George Ryan is the gentleman who built the car in 1962 originally built with a Pontiac 389 w a trip power and a 4 speed auto. Sold to his friend and Co Worker (Walter Ash) in 1963 to support his drag racing and other car builds. Walter purchased the car for $800.00.
Walter never owned another hotrod. This was his only hotrod and he truly hated to sell it he said, he wasn’t ever a “car guy” and didn’t have the knowledge and know how to keep the old girl mechanically sufficient to drive.
So he let it go, he ultimately sold the car for $1200.00 to a gentleman named David Shannon of Watertown Mass.
David Shannon owned the car from 1976 until 1984, when he sold it to Brad
Barrows od West Newburyport, Mass.
At that time the cr had a blown Pontiac motor (389) with a hole in the side of the block. Brad bought the car after David Shannon stopped into Brad's garage on day and said "I have an old hotrod, I want to sell...come see it if you're interested."
Following day Brad went to Davids and looked at and purchased the car.
Brad quickly chopped the roof of the car and tucked it in a corner of his garage. Only to pull it out every now again to do some additional work to the when he had time.
Brad was never in love with the 1934 Ford Coupe, so therefore he never felt the desire to focus on it and finish the car,
The car sat until June 19th of 2020 when I purchased the car....
This is where my story begins and im the guy who's going to put in the time and effort to get THIS OLD HOTROD back on the road...doing what its supposed to be doing !!!
Tearing up the streets of Massachusetts being one badass hotrod !!
