There are so many ways a player can sound confident, here's just 2.

1. Play like you mean it - specifically referring to rock and metal rhythms in this video. When playing don't be afraid of hitting the guitar a little harder, add palm muting. In most rock cases you sound more disciplined, tighter with drums, and play with more conviction. All this will add to a more confident-sounding player.

2. Vibrato - this will always make a player sound more experienced and in control when done well. Technical pointers would be to use half-step bends for more subtle vibrato. Used in slower more melodic solos more commonly. Then apply full step bends in your vibrato for faster, wilder solos. There's a place for both, so learn both. Share the load in your fretting hand by using more than one finger for an even better purchase of the note you want to add vibrato to.
