'24 Top Performance on Curious Goldfish Podcast: Greg Loftus, "I Don't Want to Die in San Antone"

Congratulations to @gregloftusmusic - His playing of "I Don't Want to Die in San Antone" is ranked as the Top Performance of 2024 of all the songs performed on @curiousgoldfishpodcast in its inaugural year.

First off, the song, and this performance, is great - Greg rolled into the interview on a Saturday morning during @americanafest. He sang it like it was 10 pm on a Saturday evening at a honky tonk somewhere in southeast Texas. His shirt was wrinkled and halfway-buttoned, his hat sat uneven on top of his head. It didn't matter once he strummed the guitar.

But beyond the greatness of the song - Greg best embodies the collective personality and persona of the 50+ guests I had the honor of talking to in 2024. He's super talented. He's passionate. He's balancing music with another job, weighing the pros and cons of whether it's worth it to go for music 100 percent yet or not. That was one of the biggest themes of the first year of the podcast - the music industry is hard. You have to hustle. You have to find a way to showcase your art and manage a business. You have to engage with your fans beyond steams, follows and likes. You have to build a connection. Based in Cape Cod, Greg has done just that.
