A Major 3-Octave Scale (Starting 1st Finger on the G String)
I = E string (the highest and thinnest string)
II = A string
III = D string
IV = G string (the lowest and thickest string)
The 4-4-4 with the line in between notes is an indication to extend the 4th finger to reach the last note of the scale and then retract moving back down the scale
