As a longtime lover of hardcore shooters, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has everything I could want in a Battle Royal: punchy gunplay, tactical positioning, great graphics, and moments to make my heart race. I spent sleepless nights chasing the elusive chicken dinner, and hours perfecting my skill with each different gun. I've been playing PUBG consistently for a year now, so naturally when I saw a goofy, childish looking game called Fortnite finally topple it from the top of Twitch's most watched games, I scoffed.

I ignored Fortnite for months, thinking that it was just a shallow fad, but then I started paying attention when it became more popular than any game in recent memory. Forbes writer Matt Perez even theorized that the game itself boosted revenues for Xbox and Playstation.

And today, I decided that it was time to give it a shot. I've collected a few of my first impressions for any fellow PUBG players who have yet to dip their toes into the world of Fortnite. The game itself is free so you have nothing to lose by trying it out for yourself, but I hope to finally convince you to give it a go.


Welcome back to Fortnite. Today we're taking a look at Fortnites newest game mode, Battle Royale! Battle Royale in Fortnite is very similar to other games of this genre except with one major difference, you can build and demolish! This adds a whole new strategic mechanic to an already awesome genre of game. In this episode of Fortnite we play a couple rounds of Battle Royale and see how this new mode plays out.
