An Exercise to Practice Sixteenth Notes - Music Theory + Piano Tutorial (Part 2)

Part two of this series focuses on a sixteenth note melody, supported by left-hand chords on each hit point. In this lesson, we explore how to use rests and plan them within the rhythm. If you missed part one, it covers hit points and how to feel them along with the melodic aspect of the same.

Using a G Dorian melody composed with 16 semiquavers, we improve our hand independence by counting each sixteenth note in a bar of 4/4. We understand all the relevant theory and then apply the same on the Piano. In Part 1, we focus on counting the sub divisions while in Part 2, we focus on using Rhythmic Devices to compose & improvise freely.
