Annalies Tang - "Jasmine Tea" Ska Punk International Records - A BlankTV World Premiere!

Artist City, State, Country: Lansing, Michigan, U.S.A.

Artist Bio: Annalies Tang’s introduction to ska began while the band was passing demos across the United States from Massachusetts to Michigan to California. Her debut EP 'Disappearing Act' happened in a very unorthodox way.
Drummer and guitarist, Criss Steel, recounts it thusly: “Rather than approaching this EP in the traditional fashion of starting a band, writing together and deciding to record, this started as a group of demos being passed around just for fun, daydreaming of a time when it could materialize into a project.”
Many members of the band who are not in other projects together met for the first time upon arriving in Grand Rapids, Michigan, at Cold War Studios to track the EP with Rick Johnson (Mustard Plug, Bomb the Music Industry, and labelmates/band mates Poindexter). In fact, this is Annalies Tang’s first band. While many band’s stumble through finding a cohesive sound across months or years, the process only took a few days.
The band consists of members of Grey Matter, Poindexter, Non Binary, The Maxies, Odd Robot, A Billion Ernies, Decades, Jason Alarm, and She/Her/Hers who all bring something different to the overall sound.
This nationwide group lays down the tracks for the graceful and acrobatic vocals of Annalies Tang.
'Disappearing Act' is emotionally intelligent and empowering, meant for listening to refreshment. In moments of unwinding on the commute home from work, getting ready in the mirror to go out with friends, or while sipping one’s favorite tea, the band hopes that the album will bring a spiritual pick me up to everyone who listens.

Song Lyrics: "Jasmine Tea"

The only phrase you know is ”knee how”,
Your favorite food is PF’s Kung Pao.
You won’t even try to say my name,
Am I just a rabbit for you to claim?
Twisting, turning, fragile like a leaf,
Master, would you like some jasmine tea?
Do you know me?
What do you seek?
Go get that chopstick in bun outta here,
Flush that yellow fever out of your head.
Aww your patriarchal fantasy,
Would you like a cup of jasmine tea?
Twisting, turning, fragile like a leaf,
Master, do you want some jasmine tea?
Crush the tea leaves right under my feet,
This is going to be a little treat.
Brew it three times to make it authentic,
A hundred degrees to wash your sins
Jasmine tea
Jasmine tea
Jasmine tea
Jasmine tea
Jasmine tea.
