How I adapted a "bad technique" to work in my everyday playing... tonguing through the lip or off the lip is often frowned on in the classical school, but its applications are endless! It can create a fatter aperture, more meat in the sound, more security in the high range and low range, nuance to your articulation, more defined staccatos, and the list goes on. Is this the only way? Absolutely not. Is it a tool to learn and adjust to your needs?
