In this video you’re going to learn about the 5 main points I would cover to learn the piano.
Here are the points that I cover in the video for beginner piano lessons.
First, you’ll see how I started learning at the age of 7 years old hopefully to inspire you now that you can see where I began playing and how you can follow these 5 steps to help you on your way too.
Next up, I'll show you how to spell words on the piano and how to find your way around the notes to become familiar with the piano/keyboard layout.
After this, I explain the importance of knowing your scales and fingerings. This is a simple step to familiarising yourself with the layout of the piano keys.
The next steps leads onto chords. It's no secret that chords are the foundations that music is built upon.
The next step is to look at examples of basic theory and why theory is important to know and will benefit your playing.
Lastly, I mention to record yourself playing and practice consistently. This is because with consistency you will always improve your playing and recording yourself will help you to hear yourself playing as an audience would.
This step is important because when you practice as a beginner pianist, you have so much to concentrate on that you don't hear your performance the same as everyone else until you record it and play it back. You can then improve your playing from there.
