The BirdFest and Bluegrass Festival in Ridgefield, Washington celebrates both the return of the Sandhill Cranes and the beauty of bluegrass music every October. This joint effort by the City of Ridgefield and the Friends of the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge transforms the town and the Refuge into a haven for nature and music lovers.
Over a fun-filled weekend, festival-goers can participate in a variety of activities. Explore the Refuge on a self-guided hike, listen to educational talks by park rangers, or join in on birdwatching tours led by experts. Spotting a majestic Sandhill Crane is a highlight for many visitors.
Meanwhile, downtown Ridgefield comes alive with bluegrass music. Local vendors showcase their crafts and delicious food, while musicians perform on stages throughout the town. Pickers can even test their bluegrass skills at a jam session.
Whether you're a birdwatcher, a music enthusiast, or simply looking for a fun fall outing, Birdfest and Bluegrass offers something for everyone. So grab your binoculars, dancing shoes, and head to Ridgefield for a unique festival experience!
