In this video I break down the bass line from the live version of 'Born Under A Bad Sign' from the 'In Session' gig featuring Stevie Ray Vaughan and Albert King.

This version of Born Under A Bad Sign was recorded in 1983 and features some great bass work by Gus Thornton. He changes the bass line slightly from the Born Under A Bad Sign bass line played by Donald 'Duck' Dunn on the original Stax Records version.

The interplay between SRV and Albert King is so great to watch throughout the whole gig and they are backed by excellent drums and bass.

Born Under A Bad Sign is a Blues classic so it's worth learning if you are thinking of playing at a Blues jam night or gig.

Born Under A Bad Sign follows a 12-bar form but is slightly different from the usual 12-Bar Blues chord progression.

Born Under A Bad Sign is in C# minor and the chord progression is as follows:
