This sibling-led trio from Taiwan presented a masterclass on melodic variations driven by gentle, jazzy dynamics. Bassist KT Chang led each movement of this piece with delicate precision before going haywire with aggressive strumming — and everything in-between. I discuss tips on executing her two-handed tapping technique, how the trio ebb and flow so well together with rhythmic pacing, how she later utilized tapping to “widen” the trio’s sound with two independent bass parts, the trio's impeccible chemistry, and much more! ????????????
