Working on the Chaconne with Professor Marta Abraham!

Marta Abraham has published multiple books of research on the Chaconne, including her recent wonderful publication, the Chaconne Handbook. She also has a filmed performance of the entire partita, which will be released later this month.

I've really enjoyed reading her work, which includes a detailed structural analysis of the 64 variations of the Chaconne: this research reveals novel insights to the year surrounding the death of Bach's first wife. It has given me a vivid picture to imagine as I'm now able to play the entire piece, and I look forward to rereading her work for deeper insights!
