We all know that Chad Smith is known for his powerful funk/rock grooves, creative fills and first-call body double skills for Will Ferrell. But for me, Chad's use and comfortability with triplet based feels sets him apart from most rock drummers.

In this is latest installment of "ROCK FILLS THAT RULE", we're going to break down and learn a fill concept that is based primarily off a cool displaced quarter-note triplet groove from one of my all-time favorite Chad Smith drumming performances!

Triplets have always felt less comfortable to me, but by exploring these "not-so-common" triplet variations have really helped me throughout the years feel more grounded and confident when playing these types of feels.
