I'm playing a 1925 Gibson L3
I fingerpick this with three fingers and I suspect Norman Blake uses only two (thumb and index), this results in a slightly different sound.
Norman Blake is not only an expert flatpicker but recorded some nice fingerpicking tunes as well.
