Chelonis R. Jones is back with the first single taken from his debut album ‘Dislocated Genius’. The New Yorker has lived in Europe for the past decade, making his mark as a songwriter, artist and poet. Hugely driven to create he is a highly original artist in every medium he chooses for expression; provocative, daring, insightful, humorous, eccentric but always original. Some artists choose to overblow the truth of their past, with Chelonis you can rest assured its all true. Before concentrating on his solo music, he had performed in 23 bands and written for a number of other artists. Since joining the Get Physical family, he’s released the alluring ‘One&One’ and popular poetic love tale ‘I don’t know’. Besides creating his own album Chelonis is part of the forthcoming Royksopp album co-writing the track ‘49%’, which will be the second single.

'Le Bateau Ivre' is the closing track from the album, and was inspired in part by Arthur Rimbaud's poem 'The Drunken Ship' - a seafaring tale of an alluring but nefarious existence, as this writer reads it. Rumbling sub bass, grumbling soundbeds, sci-fi clicks and spacey synths underpin Chelonis' pop-catchy haunting vocal. 'Middle Finger Music' comes on strong with psychotic noise before pulling back to a controlled beat bristling with glitches and evolving into a strong rumbling bassline. Strange but infectiously danceable, bassline mixing with snatches of vocal before kicking off with the uplifting melody and words that are distinctively Chelonis. Inspired by his first week in Europe; arriving with just the money in his pocket and no ticket home, living rough and surviving on the edges of near-illegal madness. Deep and dark, it's a story that could only come from the life of Chelonis. As some would say, you couldn't make this shit up.

The Fairy kick 'Le Bateau Ivre' firmly onto the primetime dancefloor. The rework embraces Chelonis' sugar sweet pop vocals adding strong sub bass and electro flavour. The Fairy project is a collaboration between Canadian DJ, producer and club promoter Tiga, and one of Swedens foremost electronic producers Jesper Dahlbäck. Tiga created Montreal's first true rave 'Solstice' in 93, opened record boutique 'Data' in 94 and founded his own label Turbo in 98. In 2003 he mixed his own 'DJ Kicks' and is currently working on his artist album. Jesper Dahlbäck comes from a family of musicians and contempory electronic producers. He runs his own label ‘Blank’ and has worked with Tiga on projects for Turbo since 1996. Finally Swiss producers Samim & Michal, from the TuningSpork stable, offer an 'almost sober remix' with off kilter beats, a deep subby groove and acid twangs. Samim & Michal aim to put the bling into minimal electro house.
