Frédéric Chopin wrote his Galop in A flat major, also known as Galop Marquis in 1846. It is a work for solo piano, and it doesn't count among Chopin's most performed pieces. It did not receive an opus number during Chopin's lifetime, so it usually referred to as P2 no. 13 under the Józef Michał Chomiński catalogue. It has been suggested that the title makes reference to one of George Sand's (Chopin's lover) dogs.
