Frédéric Chopin wrote his Canon in F minor for piano solo around 1839. The work remains unfinished, and it is not clear if the intention of the composer was to use it as a fragment in a bigger composition. As it lacks an opus number, it is usually designed by its Brown catalogue number, B. 129a.
