In this video we'll be learning the first piece from Suzuki Book 2, Chorus from "Judas Maccabeus". This piece was written by George Frederic Handel, originally to be sung for a chorus of voices. It tells the story of a conquering hero, who has just won an epic battle to save the kingdom.

The main focus for us in this piece is bow division, using a variety of rhythms and slurred notes. All throughout Book 2, we are going to be developing the expressiveness of our bow arm. This piece is a great way to start that development with broad, long melodious notes.
