This one is of course cheating a little. Not only could I play with Mike, I did for almost 15 years. We're still great friends, I make time to talk to him anytime I can, and he's been a huge part of my life musically and personally for almost 25 years now.

We've been all over the world together playing music on stage and in the studio, and he also played on my albums Theater By The Sea and The Space In Between.

I always loved this opening track from his 2001 album "Voices", but we never got to play it live together. I learnt it today in about 20 minutes, played along to the album a few times to solidify the form, and what you hear is take one of one.

I took a few liberties at the end of the track, more like a live performance than a studio date. There's a lot more freedom in this setup where you know you're not getting fired for overplaying ????.

The only place I can really get roasted is the comments, so have at it!

I used LALAL.ai to take out the original bass and everything you hear is my own playing. Signal chain on this one was the caveman audio BP-1 and then straight into the desk with the slightest of compression in post in the box.
