???????????? ????????????????????????????: Toby Keith, 62, passed away on Monday after being diagnosed with stomach cancer more than two years ago. Keith “fought his fight with grace and courage,” the statement on his death reads. Following high school, Keith began working in the oil fields while also beginning to play music with his band. Soon, music was his principal focus and in 1993, he released his first album, of which the Rolling Stone reports, “Remarkably, the album’s first single, ‘Should’ve Been a Cowboy,’ hit Number One on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart.” Keith prioritized writing songs, and over the course of his career, won several awards, also being inducted into both the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. He performed his final concerts in December 2023 in Las Vegas.

Keith is survived by his mother, wife, two daughters and a son, as well as his brother, sister and four grandchildren. Upon the news of his death, many across the nation have released tributes, with the Academy of Country Music CEO Damon Whiteside saying, “Toby Keith was a powerhouse singer-songwriter, performer, entrepreneur, and Country Music icon who defined the last several decades of Country Music and influenced a generation of talent.”
