Eric Norton III passed away August 17, 2017. Detroit Rock 'n Roll Kid was Written and produced by Cody Melville with vocals performed by John Reneaud. The song is a heartfelt tribute to Rick Norton, a mutual friend of both Melville and Reneaud. The video is credited to Laurence Moore and John Reneaud, with photos made available via Rick's family and friends. This video also utilized driving scenes from public domain film Joy Ride to depict Rick's alleged savage driving habits of yesteryear, along with stock footage via the Videohive.net.

Other Detroit rock 'n roll kids featured in the photo montage during the bridge of the song include:

Brian Kennedy, David Shultz, Roger Allen, Rick Norton & John Reneaud (1st and last band photo in montage)
Johnny DiMeglio, Frank Green, Jeff Dimeglio, Gary Kosten, Lance Sherwood (Hose Band Video),
Tim Hosper: barefoot w/ guitar on front porch
Oscar Haskins III: basement rehearsal
Cody Melville (wrote and produced this song); guitar in hand
Daniel Smith: cool with a harmonica
Ron Asheton: the late great (featured in cult film classic Mosquito w/ Reneaud as actors)
Edward Donnelly: Zappa tee shirt (Dresden Cowboy producer along with Michael Madill - not in photo)
John Ludi: distinguished fellow
Kim Fox & Tom Wall: Old school Detroit Rockers w/ band
Ray Goodman: My father-in-law who happens to be an amazing guitar player with a very rich history in Detroit rock.
Tito Calloway: "Calloway time"

There are many, many, many, many, many more unsung Detroit rock 'n roll kids, some old now, some still young, some famous, others not so... however, it was a delight to present all of the aforementioned within this video. This is a beautiful song, I only hope that the images support the lyrics, and, I am really happy that Cody involved me in presenting it. After all, I suspect, that, just like my dearly departed buddy Rick Norton, we are all Detroit rock n' roll kids at heart.

Also Note: this song is included on the Dresden Cowboy album titled Detroit Strange which includes songs by THE ELECTRIC SHAMANS, The Dresden Cowboy, along with the Pluto Radio Band Project.

Thanks to all who support this music.
