Did Black Sabbath Accidentally Invent Christian Metal?
Back in 1971, Black Sabbath released After Forever — a track packed with Christian language and spiritual themes. Yep… the same band accused of being satanic might've dropped the first Christian metal song ever. Before Stryper. Before Petra. Before “Christian metal” was even a thing.

Some of the lyrics read like a sermon:
"God is the only way to love"
"Perhaps you’ll think before you say that God is dead and gone"
"Open your eyes, realize that He’s the one"

It’s unexpected. It’s powerful. And it came from a band named Black Sabbath.
