In this video, I show how bluesy it sounds, when you use "dirty notes."
There is no precise definition of what this is, but it usually boils down to playing 1 note and let a little bit of air leaking into an adjacent hole ( left or right side). How much air and how much the other note leaks along varies each time.
I use this technique quite a lot with the advantage, that when using an amp and mic, you have a fuller and bluesier sound.
I also use tremolo ???? softer and louder sound) and vibrato (continuous pitch change) to enhance the effect of dirty notes.
In this video I also play octaves and sometimes I play them in such a way that a light tremolo arises by slightly bending a note to the left or right.
I almost always use the tongueblock embouchure for the above mentioned techniques.
If you have any questions about this you can send me a message. I also offer online lessons, for information about this send a message via Facebook chat or send an email to : benbouman16 at gmail.com
