Do I need to level the frets? Plus a beginners guide to a guitar setup. #jurgscup Ep 19

There is some debate about whether you should level the frets on a guitar. During my 17 plus years of making guitars I have always followed convention and levelled the frets, but is this process really necessary. By doing the levelling am I just messing up a perfectly good set of frets. In this episode I put this to the test using my newly fretted but no levelled bass guitar neck - the result is surprising. With this ingenious basis for a mystery story, D K Dickens has has come up with a plot that will keep you riveted till the last page. Unputdownable.
