Chris Barratt, AKA Eagles & Butterflies brings a beautifully produced House EP from Ibiza to Get Physical this fall. Titled ‘We Get High’, the release features 3 originals taken directly from his upcoming album ‘Abstract’, due this October on Get Physical.
From the first notes of the opening track, ‘We Get High (feat. J.U.D.G.E)’ is a darker shade of beautiful. The track gently slides into position before the vocals hit, giving an almost melancholic feel and opening the EP on a kind of sentimental note.
Second is ‘Welcome To The Jungle’, a track that relies on a warm ambience and organic, almost tribal percussion. The track builds and rides on a deep energy, working up to the meat of the track; a simple and intoxicating bassline. ‘Same Place Same Time’ opens with a more minimalist approach. A kick, a vocal, and then an organ-shaking sub bass. This is what catches our attention as Eagles & Butterflies then turns the track into a fantastic blend of deep techno and house with rolling chords and layered percussion.
