Edward Lodewijk Van Halen was a Dutch-born American guitarist, producer, songwriter, and co-founder of the hard rock band Van Halen. Known for his electrifying solos and two-handed fretboard tapping, he's considered one of the greatest guitarists in rock history. Van Halen's unique sound was influenced by Eric Clapton and fused blues-based rock with classical music.
