Howdy, everyone. We're Đặng Hà Trang (ID: 4501701161) and Hà Minh Luân (ID: 4501701071). This is the final project of our English Literature class, which was instructed by Mrs. Vo Ho Minh Trinh. The story 'The slave's harmonica' was written based on the theme that friendship has no boundary. The content was about the precious friendship of an English boy- Darwin and the black tragic slave- Obi. Hope you can enjoy listening this story. ❤️
NOTE: The name of the characters was inspired from many sources, which will be shown below
- 'Darwin' is a masculine name of English origin, meaning 'dear friend'.
- 'Obi' is a masculine name of Nigerian origin. Obi originates from the Igbo tribe, which translates to heart.
- Bob Haley is inspired by the two white characters Bob Ewell in "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee and Mr. Haley in "Uncle Tom's Cabin" by Harriet Beecher Stowe. They represented white people's prejudice, ignorance, and hatred towards black people in the past.
- Dolos is named after Dolos, a god of trickery, craftiness and treachery in Greek mythology.
