What's your favourite Van Halen chord progression?
I've always loved the harmonic journey Eddie takes us on in Little Guitars.
With it's range of chords delving into the Major 7th, Sus, 1st Inversion & Dominant 7th, it's a bit progressive, but doesn't alienate the casual listener, as he modulates seamlessly between multiple keys, before landing on the doorstep of that great verse riff with the plucking technique.
All delivered with a ferocious groove combined with that murky swirling chorus-before-the-amp tone.
Who knew drop F could on a mini guitar could sound so brutal?
