We know Jesus is superior to all the prophets because in him God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him. Col 1:19. So it follows that if disobedience to God through Moses caused bodies to fall in the desert and not enter the promised land, what will be the outcome of us if we disobey God through the word of his Son?! This is our warning in Heb chapters 3&4 which we will focus on this Sunday.
But God has spoken of another day, a Sabbath rest for the people of God who will enter "God's rest" and rest from his own work even as God rested from his. Heb 4:8-9
During these days on earth genuine rest seems hard to come by but the promise is there will be rest for the blessed!
