Recently I resurrected the Flight of the Bumblebee out of some mild curiosity. I wondered - has my recent improvements in speed keyboard typing (getting 100 wpm+ scores now) improved my execution of 'Flight of the Bumblebee' by Rimsky Korsakov. This piece is difficult for trumpet because it demands rapid succession of some particularly awkward fingerings. To my amazement, after not looking this piece for a few years, I was able to pick up this intro line and within minutes get it faster than I ever had before. I made a little exercise to break it down in multiple keys and speeds. You can download that here:
