3.. 2.. 1.. GO! Wait, they don't say that in this game. Hold on, isn't there something else I'm supposed to count down to right now?

So! Another year comes to a close. I'll pin a comment reflecting on things later. For now: Mario Kart! I grew up playing the game with my older siblings, usually losing because, y'know, I'm me. But we had fun! At least I remember us having fun. Know what, I probably had the most fun watching others play it. Some things never change, huh?

As for the production process, I'm happy to report that everything went smoothly! The longest part of the process was probably getting the midi xylophone just right, I'm just glad I found something I could use for it! It's an important part of the composition so I wanted to have that part down. Guitar work was nice and simple, I even added some tapping to the second section for fun. I did chicken out on one thing: the past month I've been trying to build a new guitar tone experimenting with multiple plugins. Pedals from one, an amp from another, cab and mic from yet another, it's a fun way to what my software is capable of! I chickened out at the last minute and switched back to the 5150 in BIAS FX. It's fun to experiment but sometimes you just want a tone that works, y'know? But I'll keep working at it and we'll see what I eventually come up with! Anywho: Filming went smoothly as well! In fact, the most difficult part was getting the bass line perfect, because it's simplicity had me going "this needs to be played perfectly for the camera" lol. I like to think I got everything right. Let me know if I did or what I should improve on!

(Note: This is not my composition, obviously. Mario Kart and it's music belong to Nintendo. Listen to the original version of this song, or play the game if you have access to it! It's fun, promise.)
