"Free" is a song about controlling your own path in life and not allowing others to tell you what you should do. I had been told numerous times growing up not to waste my time on music as they warned me that I wasn't good enough. They told me that I would get absolutely nowhere with it. I Initially listened to the advice and pursued a career in engineering. I soon learned that without music, I wasn't happy with my situation as I was locked in the corporate machine. The moral of the story is, you will never be free in life unless you do what makes you happy!
