Here's a play-through for you for the first page of "Fatback" bass drum exercises from Gary Chaffee's "Time Functioning Patterns" - with a consistent 8th note feel on the hi-hat. This is one of my all-time favourite bass drum drills for building speed and control, and a must IMO for any drummer at the Grade 3 level and up.
