„Words Don’t Come Easy“. The phrase rings true for a seemingly infinite number of things and situations we find ourselves in on a daily basis. One thing that constantly leaves us at a loss for words is, without a doubt, music. The vocal element in particular has the eerie power to take our breath away and leave us completely speechless more times than any other aspect in our opinion. With “Words Don’t Come Easy” we wanted to put that theory to test. We’ve compiled 14 of what are subjectively some of the best examples in our catalogue. From the sweet, soft intro of ‘Crazy (Nôze Remix Extended Club Version)’ to Tim Green’s ‘In Love’ and its warming chorus. The chilling vocals of Bedouin’s ‘Walk Away’, or ‘6 Degrees (Tale Of Us Remix)’ provide another example of the versatility and diversity vocals bring to a soundscape. ‘Sunset’ and ‘Hausch’, by Compuphonic and andhim respectively (the latter being George Morel’s Mainstream Mix) take the diversity and potential even further showing us what can be achieved with a great vocal. Of course we had to include examples like the warm and buttery classic ‘Moment’ by Damian Lazarus, as well as John Monkman featuring the beautiful voice of Liz Cass. Living legends like the sought after voice of Cari Golden will be found here, lending her voice to DJ T’s ‘City Life (Maceo Plex Remix)’. All in all I think we did a pretty sound job of representing a beautiful selection of vocals and what they can do to a track. We have a good feeling you’ll agree.
