Here's the next episode of Brewster's Millions Of Rants with Guitar Noises & Sound Effects. Historically speaking, there are countless places in rock music history where you can find players producing unusual sounds that authentically mimick various animals, vehicles, sirens, telephones, car horns, doorbells, and much more. Needless to say, this lesson tackles these ideas head-on - so let's dive in!
I've had the idea for this lesson for a while, but it wasn't until the recent Brad Gillis/Jeff Watson Three-For-All episode when I demonstrated Brad's famous Ferrari whammy bar trick that I decided to go ahead with this lesson and devote an entire episode to creating various sound effects/noises using the electric guitar and your imagination.
There are plenty of famous players that have documented these sounds and ideas in their music, and that includes legends such as Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Eddie Van Halen, David Gilmour, Steve Vai, Ronnie Montrose, Adrian Belew, Buckethead, and many others! These sounds/effects range from race cars, sirens, and motorcycles to more elaborate animal-based sounds, such as whales, elephants, horses, kittens, and much more!
If you've been searching for some new ideas that will surely help you think outside the box while exploring some new areas of your musical imagination and creativity - this lesson is for you! There's plenty hiding in this episode to keep you busy for a while, and there are literally hundreds of additional noise/sound effect ideas like these to locate, explore, and master. Keep your eyes and ears open for new possibilities, as you never know what unique or interesting sound you might be able to emulate or produce using your guitar and an open mind.
