The repeated guitar squeak in the cover version sounds off. Drums sound digital. Tomb of the Mutilated album version is instrumentally spot on already. Original vocalist Chris Barnes on the album is more fitting for the band's death metal style as well. Nevertheless it's fun to hear how Will Ramos approaches this cover especially since he was not raised listening to the classics of first generation original death metal. Glad they recorded this mostly for the next generation of metal fans to hear their predecessors. It can be like a gateway for some newbie metalcore fans to learn about and appreciate some real death metal bands: Cannibal Corpse, Suffocation, Morbid Angel, Deicide.
