Harmonica Cover: Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time - Saria's Song (The Lost Woods Theme)

Here's an arrangement that I did earlier based on Euphonium07's version of "Saria's Song," a classic Legend of Zelda song. I already have a video of this from before but I decided to redo it and make it longer with a solo. This song lies pretty well in 12th position as it uses the lydian mode on the diatonic in C. I added the chromatic harmonica playing the higher harmonies while keeping the chord and bass harmonicas pretty much the same.

During 2020-2021 (and probably will this year too) I've been playing some songs that give me a lot of joy during this very tough time. When everything comes together it feels great. Using harmonicas for every part is a challenge at times and is a lot of fun because of the unique sounds. Also, as a harmonica player it's a pretty cool thing. Classical musicians would call this a Consort.

Anyway, if I haven't mentioned it before, I love the 1990's Nintendo music so much. Koji Kondo is an amazing composer who has written for the Super Mario and Zelda series since the beginning. It was so much fun playing on the NES while sitting on the floor at a 5 year old, and the music has been a key element in making these games so special.
