METAL CHURCH was always something of an anomaly. They were on two major labels yet never scored a major breakthrough success. The name was known to many but to this day few are well-versed in their catalog. They were placed alongside the thrash titans of the Bay Area, yet they were never a thrash band. Singers came and went and came again. Instrumental songwriters left the lineup but remained involved behind the scenes. Their logo was pure Metal but their album art was often pure crap. Yet through the lineup shifts, untimely demises, label roulette, and one very overweight tightrope-walking punk Valkyrie, the group has preserved and continue to offer output that is well above the average fare from other veterans still knocking around the scene.
