With U.S. shows imminent and an ever-expanding audience, the London native is ready to bet the farm with this earnest and bittersweet tale of dreams deferred and reborn. 

Spend a few minutes chatting with Jack Browning and you’ll understand immediately how deeply he loves music. Whether it’s the portrait homages he paints of his heroes and contemporaries or the music he makes himself, there’s a passion here that can be felt deeply in all that he does.

And his chosen musical medium, a blend of country, blues, folk, and Americana, is the perfect structure for bringing that passion to light. Raw emotion bubbles to the surface in tales of heartbreak and woe set to tunes that call to mind dusty plains and starlit vistas. 

The new single, “High Hopes”, is a further evolution of both Browning’s sound as well as his storytelling. 

It’s a reflection upon the innocence of youth, tempered now by the experience of grown-up reality, of a belief in unlimited possibilities narrowed to the struggle of simply getting by. But does that mean that the magic truly dies?

It’s a question Browning tussles with throughout and there’s something so familiar and honest about that struggle. And while we’re often tempted to let those dreams die on the vine, he hints that perhaps there’s hope yet for fruit to bear.
