High Notes: The Laryngeal Truth – Uncovering the Real Source of Your Voice! ????
Welcome to a transformative vocal lesson, taken directly from one of my everyday sessions with students from around the world. In this lesson, I’ll guide you through the laryngeal truth of high notes. For those curious about where high notes truly originate, prepare to leave behind common myths suggesting that the voice or high notes come from different parts of the body, depending on the school or technique. Here, you’ll discover that all sound, from the lowest to the highest note, comes directly from the vocal cords – scientifically proven, unmistakably true.
????Segments You’ll See:
0:09 High Notes, The Laryngeal Truth: Discover the truth about where the voice comes from.
2:00 B-flat is Not a High Note: Let’s redefine what’s considered “high” in the world of singing.
3:14 A Chain Reaction of Vibrations: Understanding the physical vibrations that create your voice.
4:54 Relax Your Neck; Let Your Throat Open!: Why it’s crucial to free your voice.
6:00 It Has to Be Easy for the Voice, Not the Body: Finding ease in the right areas.
6:47 Everything Works with Muscles: How muscles play their part in vocal production.
7:19 Do Not Over-Breathe: Avoiding common mistakes in breath management.
8:46 It’s Simple If You Have the Recipe: My guidance turns vocal mastery into a learnable skill.
9:31 Arturo Melocchi Db5 (High D-flat) Exercise: Honoring Melocchi’s powerful techniques.
10:26 Lessons for Results – Work in Progress: Progress that speaks for itself.
Let’s clarify: while the voice originates exclusively and absolutely from the vocal cords, housed in the larynx, it is part of a harmonious system involving the lungs, diaphragm, and resonant cavities. This entire system must work in balance for a singer to achieve their full potential, yet the source of all voice remains solely the vocal cords.
In this lesson (#4 for my student Lazar), you’ll witness the fantastic progress he’s achieved in only 4 lessons. Lazar arrived with a maximum note of B-flat, and now, he’s reaching a D-flat5 – an outstanding improvement! Though it's a work in progress, the results are amazing and proof of what focused guidance can achieve.
Through clear examples with Lazar’s participation, this lesson offers powerful insights into mastering high notes. Whether you’re an aspiring singer or a professional looking to refine your technique, you’ll find invaluable tools here.
