In this jazz drummer Q-Tip of the Week drum lesson, I demonstrate how to feather the bass drum in jazz. Feathering the bass drum is a very important jazz technique that is meant to be felt but not heard. Mastering how to feather the bass drum will give the drummer more feeling to their quarter note pulse but it is very important that feathering the bass drum is done properly or it could actually take away from the drummers sound and feel.
