Let's take a look at Gene Chrisman's very funky grooves for Memphis Souls Stew by King Curtis, a classic number from 1971. This is a fab song to learn and play along to. Loads of fun.
For the first groove we're going to focus on "chunking" learning the pattern by focusing on each quarter in turn. For the second we're going to focus on an incremental method that lets you learn a pattern at a faster tempo.
00:00 Intro
00:49 Demonstration
01:08 The first groove of the song
07:50 The second groove of the song
11:50 Outro
